I was in Michigan for a few days. I flew in and surprised my mom in her classroom. She had no idea I was coming home and I just showed up at her classroom and she freaked out. She was so shocked to see me. It was perfectly played with help from my step-dad Buzz. It was a prefect fall weekend in the mitten. I was able to catch up with old friends, visit familiar favorite places and spend some quality time with the family. Dana and I took a lovely walk around the grounds of Cranbrook. Over the years we had many pictures taken first during sophomore year of high school before our dear friend Grace moved to the east coast, then during our senior year as we prepared to graduate. The grounds are beautiful and we had a prefect crisp fall day to enjoy them.
I shopped and cooked with my mom, two favorite activities especially around the holidays. We visited a favorite restaurant with my Grandpa, Kruse and Muer with the best bread on earth. We also spent some time at the cider mill. I ate way too many fresh, hot donuts with tart apple cider. It was heaven. Fall is my favorite and I could not have asked for a better weekend in my favorite state.
There was also plenty of cat naping and sound sleeping. Here is KB, one of my parents cats snoozing on my lap in the morning sun.
